Thermostat with limits set by landlord

Hi folks,

I have a rental unit with a hot air/central AC system installed.  I am looking for a thermostat that I can install where I can set the upper and lower limits of the temperature - perhaps by a passcode.  In other words, a user can adjust/set the temperature up or down as long as it is within pre-set limits.

What I am really trying to do is to limit the low end of the temperature for the central AC in the summer.  The AC unit is pretty expensive, and I've had a tenant in the past whom liked to run the AC constantly with the windows open.  Even though they are paying for the utilities, it is putting excessive wear on the system and I worry it will fail prematurely, which would be my cost to bear.

Does such a product exist?

Thank you in advance.

I swear by landlordstat. Not sure if I can put a link in here so google it, Chicago controls.

My concern is the heat that I pay for, They can set the ac to whatever they want.

When we put these in shortly after acquisition- we significantly decreased our gas bill. Significantly!

They have one that you can set but the majority are hardwired. Mine kicks on at wake-up to 68 and kicks off at 9am then kicks on after work until I believe 10pm. They can always over ride it to go to 71, but it resets at the next cycle.

They have ones that limit ac as well. LOVE THEM!
