Finding contractors who won’t rip you off

Posted

A roof contractor quoted $24,000 for a property that had 2,300 sq ft of living space for asphalt shingles if the property needed a new roof. The angles of the roof aren’t steep either. I looked online and the average cost to replace shingles on a 2,400 sq ft home was only about 8,000-12,000.

I feel like even if the company has a lot of 4-5 stars on yelp doesn’t mean that they won’t take advantage of you.

How do you find capable contractors that won’t rip you off in the Los Angeles area?

I wouldnt say they are taking advantage of anyone.  They charge X Dollars. Consumer can choose to use their services or not use their services based on that price.  That is how markets work. Like any product, some will sell that product for an expensive price, some a moderate price, some a cheap price.  And the price does not always reflect the quality. Sometimes the most expensive product is crap.....sometimes the cheapest is crap.
