Security Deposit Return Question
I just finished a 12 month lease with a bf/gf couple that were very nasty and abusive tenants to me (texts and emails). They were constantly complaining and picking fights with me. They just moved out and I mailed them a check for the full amount of the security deposit but only put one name on the check. Now they are complaining and threatening to sue me because I didn’t put both of their names on the check...even though they live together and got a full refund. Do I have to send them another check or can I finally ignore them and be done with them forever??

@Douglas Underwood - agree with above, but you have to ask yourself, where did this relationship go wrong, when did they get the idea that they can engage with you like that? Obviously they feel they can bully you around. I suspect you have been too personal. Sometimes people mistake your kindness for weakness.
This it's why it's so important to show up with your corporate armor and look like a professional business and not "we are renting from a guy". I have made the mistake a few times and it's an easy one to meak and also easy to avoid.
I am always trying to have the attitude of the front desk manager in a luxury hotel, very friendly and very firm. Definitly not a person with kids and birthdays, but a representative of the hotel. Simple things. I spent a few hundred dollars years ago on branded folders for the leases, signs and pens and coffee mugs and a jacket - now we look like a professional business. get a corporate shield and hide behind it as much as possible,
