Carry License
Out of my own curiosity, wondering how many people on BP involved in rental property have a CPL, CCW, or whatever it is called in your state.
What is your carry gun of choice?
I've had a CPL since I was 22. I own about ten handguns, but my favorite to carry is my Glock 27. It's small, concealable, and very reliable. I would also recommend taking some kind of self defense class. It's great exercise and way more fun than working out at a boring gym. The place that I go has a weapons class. We learn how to disarm people whether they have a gun, knife, or bat. You'd be suprised how easy you can take a gun away from someone.
I also carry a small knife in my back pocket. It comes in handy as a tool, could also save your life if you're in an accident and need to cut the seatbelt out, or good if you're in a vacant house and some squatter attacks you and you end up on the ground.
Michigan has open carry, but I'm not a fan of that. I keep mine concealed and I've never had a tenant notice it or even know that it's there.
My wife & two of my kids have CCW.
We don't collect payments they direct deposit but my son has done rehabs in some suspect arrears for friends & carries.
My cousin Gino our painter carries all the time.
I got my fill of it in the military. But we still go to the pistol range monthly to hone the target shooting & the Glock is my favorite.
I've had a CCW for two years now. I've been through some war zones and have invested in the outskirts of some really shady parts of town.
Investing near these places was a major reason why I went out and got my license in the first place.
I mainly carry my Sig P232. Very comfortable gun to carry concealed and when I'm wearing business casual I feel like James Bond. Don't ask my if that's the main reason why I bought it though, Lol.
Rob K I have the same pistol a G27. Taking the CPL this Saturday. Where do you carry it; ankle or belt?
Pat L. It's my understanding that New York is a 'may issue' state. Was there a lot of hoops to get the permit?

The wife has had hers for 25 years.
My son got his @ 21 but was interviewed as were the rest of the family. The Sheriff wanted to ensure there were no small children in the home, gun safe on-site & no 'outstanding issues' with any family members.
Now its a crap shoot as they are trying to eliminate CCW & 'possession' up here in NY State. We may need to move the weapons to our home in FL.

Agreed...
I've studied martial arts for much of my life. Personally, I'd rather be stuck in front of an untrained guy with a loaded gun than a guy with a knife and some skills...even someone with average knife skills is likely more dangerous than an untrained person with a gun (in my opinion -- I'm sure others probably disagree :).
Ryan M. I carry in my belt at about 3:30. I also sometimes carry my S&W hammerless revolver in my pocket. I also have a 22rd mag for my G27. It sticks way out, but still super cool. Probably hard to find one these days.....
Steve Might I will PM you.
J Scott I agree with you also, except I would say that I would rather be in front of an untrained guy with a gun than even an UNtrained guy with a knife. Knives are scary! If you get shot one time, you have an 80% chance of survival. A knife never runs out of ammo or jams. When people get stabbed to death, it's usually 30-40 stab wounds.
