Rent reduction for those affected by Covid-19

We currently have 11 units, excellent tenants and most of them are losing sources of income. As a proactive measure we reduced their rent by 50% for the month of April and will look at May in a few weeks.

Is anyone else doing something like this?

To volunteer rent reductions doesn't seem the best approach. If tenants get govt money do they have to give you the other 50%?
