Small victory - but it feels so good

I just got back from court for an unlawful detainer action. Like many bad tenants she decided to make up habitability issues as a affirmative defense. I tried to settle with her but she was so smug even leaving messages on my cell phone just moments before we went into the court room.

I quickly made my case then the tenant pretty much made a fool out of herself. The judge saw right through it as she contradicted herself several times. The judge basically told me that I had the right to respond but that it wasn't necessary because he was going to rule in my favor. It was a lot less work that I thought it would be. I had several pages of response that I didn't need.

Its unreal that people like her will say anything, even under oath.

I am glad it behind me. I have had to go to court a few times over the years but this was only the second time the tenant showed up.
