Shared master bath a problem?

Rachel Brodie
Posted
I'm new to the rental investing scene and thinking about making my first leap. I found a great townhome next to a major university and can make all the numbers work but the issue I am seeing is that it is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom townhouse. The half bath is downstairs with two bedrooms upstairs. The full bath is attached to the master which would mean that if students were renting this unit (which is who it is geared to) one would have be entering the other's room. Does anyone have any experience with this and would recommend for or against? Thank you in advance!

Replied

The layout is not conducive to renting rooms. Rent the whole place out to one tenant or small family.
