Hello BP people,

my name in Matthew McKibben, and I just bought my first rental property on January 1st. It's a triplex in St Paul, MN zip 55119. I added that info to hopefully hit some key words so get people thoughts that know more then I about my question/concern.

I've been hearing bits of information about Minnesota passing a Bill that will limit my ability to conduct a thorough background check. Does anyone know what Bill it is, or what is consists of? All I've found is that it goes into affect for people with over 15 inits june 1st and under 15 units dec 1st. Tbh I'm not 100% sure if this is even correct. I havent been able to find any detailed information on the bill.

Thank you for any info that will send me in the right direction.

@Matthew Mckibben the ordinance you are referring to applies only in Minneapolis at this time. I have read reports that Saint Paul is considering something similar but nothing has been circulated in writing.

I just searched on my phone for the actual city code and couldn’t find it. I have found it before on my computer. I’ll look when at the office and tag you.
