Contractor estimates making head spin.
Hello ,
I ve acquired a property in central PA and am renovating it before renting out. I have bids from 3 contractors so far and am getting big variations between contractor quotes.
Wondering what the approximate costs are in Central PA region.
1) Roof replacement(including front and back porch roofs) is 22 square ( got quotes ranging from 7,000 to 13,000 $) - how much should I expect to pay
2) Flooring - approx 1700 sq.ft of LVP plank flooring after removing carpet ( from 3600$(material separate) to 7800$( material included)-
how much should I expect to pay
3) The home is grounded to plumbing i think ( its constructed in 1960s). Most electric sockets are 2 prongs. Some are 3 prongs.
To change all 2 prongs to 3 prongs , I got quotes from $1170 to $ 3500) .
Would appreciate from average ballpark figures for these things.
Thanks.
Ani.

@Ani Kap a note on the electrical: if the circuits are ungrounded you should actually leave those 2 prong outlets in place (unless you’re planning to run a ground wire to the outlets or swap the breakers those outlets are on to GFCI breakers). Simply swapping out the receptacles from 2 prong to 3 when the circuit itself is ungrounded can harm whatever is plugged into it and potentially cause a fire. Wasn’t clear from your post if grounding the outlets/protecting with GFCI was part of that bid...
