House hacking doesn't feel like home, round two

I am currently going through a rehab of a triplex here in Auburn, ME. My first round was a triplex in Lewiston. I recently finished up a good amount of new ceiling work and I look, feel and smell like a broken piece of sheetrock at this point.

I understand that house hacking is more work than anticipated. Most of my time is spent moving stuff around, driving to the dump, going to Lowe's and cleaning up the latest rehab mess that I am trying to call home.

How could I make the current house hacking situation feel more like home?

@Eric Pierpont - The point in house hacking is not to find "your home." It is a low entry barrier way to get into real estate. By doing so you systematically pick up rental properties over your first few years of investing (maybe more) while gaining the knowledge and experience of a real estate investor. Don't let your emotions get in your way here.

If you really do want to make it feel more "homie." I would suggest finding a property that needs less work. There are plenty of 1-4 unit properties that are being sold which you can move in immediately and start renting it out with few repairs needed. Then, when you move in you can decorate as you wish and make it feel like you'd like.
