Eviction concluded - now what?
Hi!
Long story short, we evicted a tenant for non-payment. We went through the legal process (using an attorney) and she is out of the property. With attorney fees and late fees, she owes about $4k. Do I have any options to collect that money? She doesn’t have money now (she lost her job) but if she does have money in the future, I want what is owed. Can I garnish future wages? Involve a credit collection agency? Do I have options other than being screwed?
I’m in Charlotte, NC.
Thanks!

@Lisa Wilson when i was in ohio, im pretty sure, you could go back to court for a judges ruling regarding the losses and get a judgement for, usually, garnished wages. Im also pretty sure it would carry over employers until payed back.
That would of course require another hearing and the evicted tenant getting a normal job that requires her giving her ssn/info to the employer (no under the table jobs).
Im in NC now, and would love to hear what finally come of this.
Good luck!!
