Automatic Stay Lifted
I was a tenant where the property manager did not inform me that the house I was renting went into foreclosure. I asked on several occasions for my security deposit to be returned. I filed a small claims suit against her and a month later I received a statement saying she filed bankruptcy. However, the security deposit is not listed as a debt on the bankruptcy paper. I want to know can I file a motion to lift the automatic stay without an attorney? If so, do I have to pay to file the motion? Will I ever see my security deposit again?
