Looking to house hack..How do I screen tenants?!

Looking to buy a 3 bedroom townhome by the end of the year. My plan is to rent out two rooms (short or long term) and rent my bedroom out via Airbnb when I can.

How do I best screen tenants to make sure I’m living with good honest people? Has anyone else ever house hacked?

Need as much information as possible.

@Latavia Banks I house-hack and screen my tenants just as thoroughly as I would for any other rental (I'm probably even more careful since I'm going to be living with them!). I have them fill out an application, run their background, call their previous landlords & verify their income (monthly gross income should be 3 times monthly rent).

When I receive inquiries I'm sure to let them know immediately what my standards are so I don't waste my or their time. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace have been the two platforms I've (successfully) used to find tenants.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
