Chicago 3bd/1ba rental metered $600+/month water bill!

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Why is it so high (previous months were $140/mo on average, and in last 2 months it jumped almost 6-fold!) What could it be? It's a SFH 3bd/1ba with finished basement. 2 adults and 5 kids live there. If you can recommend a specialist to go and investigate, please share their info. Chicago, Morgan Park. Thanks to all.

@Anastasia M. My first thought would be that there is a leak somewhere. I'm not sure how the water department's website works where you are. But I'm able to look at the hourly usage for my units. I'd start there and if there is steady usage all night you know there is probably a leak.
