For the vacant properties in the dead of winter in pa should you winterize them or keep heat on? Worries me because you dont know if furnace goes out or runs out of oil or gas? Whats the best thing to do?

If the house is 100 years old and has plaster walls do not let it get cold in winter ! You will be sorry when you go to check on it . I’ve seen some nasty houses for sale with ceilings collapsed and paint separated on every surface and walls crack over cheap people with pipe dreams of restoring grandmas old mill house leaving it cold in the winter . Don’t do it ! a 70$ gas bill is better than 7k in damages when stuff starts letting loose ! I’m a little over an hour north of Pittsburgh
