Judgement - Best Way To Collect?

Ryan M.

Posted

I recieved a judgement this morning for around $1,300. I know there is some older forums for this but what is working BEST these days to collect. These residents came with the property and I don't have their SS#.

Thanks in advance!

I have had luck collecting by garnishing their state tax refund. Once you get thier SSN, you have to file a garnishment form through the county court, and then serve the defendants and the Dept. of Treasury between November 1 and December 31st of 2012 if you want to collect their returns for next year. All the info can be found on the state website, but if you have the SSN's and a copy of the judgment, it's pretty simple. The clerks at the coourt should be able to show/tell you exactly what you need to do if you aren't sure.
