"CA Real Estate Investor" . Cover up?

My PM in NC referred to me as "A California Real Estate Investor" multiple times in somewhat of a condescending way like I was rich.  I felt like she didn't get me fair bids and even think she lied to me about getting multiple quotes when selling and needing a new roof.  Does anyone out there shelter the fact where they live when investing out of state because of this reason?

Just a thought, thanks.

too funny..  its been that way in Oregon forever.. native Oregonians seem to think everyone from CA is a multi millionaire and will over pay for real estate..

its why many people in other states advertise their property in CA.. you never see anyone from CA advertising their property in the mid west right ?   other than maybe a vacation type property etc.
