Water Damage Potential
I own a house (just purchased) that is connected to a vacant property. The property’s next to me has a roof that leaks and it currently covered with a tarp.
I don’t have any damage from what I can see, but the risk of damage is something I want to be proactive about to cover potential damage.
I was thinking about writing the property controller (in foreclosure currently) with a certified letter, pictures of the Roof taken from the road and express that from what I understand the previous owner of my property did say that in the pass there was water that entered into my property.
I would also request that the roof is repaired in order to not cause damage to that property or my own.
Has anyone been in this Scenario before? If so do you have any suggestions of how to cover potential damage of the property I own?
