Can I garnish social security?
My inherited tenant, in my first ever rental property, refuses to pay rent and has lied through her teeth the whole time. Is there any way, legally of course, I can force her to pay this rent after she has been evicted? I am currently waiting for the sheriff to make an appointment with me to go and physically remove her from the property. She is on widows benefits of social security and hasn't had a job in 10 years. Am I allowed to garnish her social security? Repossess her car? This is in Michigan if it helps. She owes me over $3,200. Luckily the property is a duplex and the other tenant is great so I'm not losing my shirt.
Thanks!

Don’t worry about yesterday’s pennies. Focus on tomorrow’s millions. Just get them out, rehab, place new tenant.
