Getting ready to evict my tenant, what are my legal rights?

I have a rental house with a tenant on a month to month lease. He has always paid his rent on time but is a nuisance to the neighborhood and his(my) yard looks like a junk yard. The city has come down on the property twice and we, the owners are now a repeat offender! The guy has turned out to be a real jerk to us and all his neighbors! So he has to go. I would like to know if there is anything i can do legally to make his life miserable while this is going on? Inspections? Viewings? What can i do legally?

You don't need to evict. Yet. Just terminate the lease. Give whatever notice your lease or local law mandates. If he doesn't leave, then proceed with eviction. All this is just part of the business.
