Tenant left after trashing property no forwarding address

My tenant left after completely trashing the property. The person did not leave a forwarding address (I have e-mail and/or phone number, social security etc. though). I was wondering what do I have to do to atleast put this on their credit history.

I am assuming I will never recover lost rent and the money that went into house repair (several thousands).

First question:

a. Small claims court or a collections agency (I live in a different state than the property)

b. Any recommendations on debt-collections agency or lawyer (Tarrant County, TX)

Replied

@Abhishek Singhal  - Can't bleed water from a stone.  Going after them normally isn't worth the effort because most people don't have anything to go after.  Unfortunately you should probably just cut your losses, rehab the property and fine tune your screening methods.
