Housing Market and Rental Properties Question

Hello all. I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion on the housing market and rental properties. Since the market is going up, do you think the days of buying cheap discounted houses are over?

Glad this was asked.

I'd like to throw in another question along with this one, if I may.

Since the market is going up, what would be the best investing strategies during this up market?
