Filing on tenants renters insurance for water damage
Today I get a text and pictures from a tenant (who has been an amazing renter) of the floor buckling and warping. I send over my handyman and he discovers that a window unit(non authorized) leaked condensation back into the sub floor and has caused about 500-600SF of sub floor and flooring damage.
I am meeting with the tenant tonight to discuss options and I think I am going to go ahead and make them make a claim on their renters insurance.
Anyone ever make a claim on a tenants renters insurance with success and no push back? Any tips/tricks?
