How should I go about asking if the clause in a home contract should be used as a rental?

The HOA docs. Some municipalities have also passed legislation not allowing short term rentals etc. Not knowing where you are looking or any further information is sort of making us fly blind. There is not a "blanket answer" across the country/globe.
