Car titles were given to me because rentor didnt pay

What can I do with them if the rentor doesn't come up with the money?

@Jacob G. All you may have is worthless paper . There may be liens on the titles that need to be paid off . And if not all they have to do is file for duplicate titles and then sell them to a friend .  Did you check the serial number on the title against the car , you may also have titles to cars that dont exist anymore .
