Security Deposit refund in Texas

Hello fellow landlords!

I have a bit of a situation, my tenants split up before the lease ended. One of them moved out and the other stayed to complete the lease term.

Now, I have to refund the security deposit and I sent an email to both asking where to send the check and they are fighting over it in that email.

30 days are fast approaching and I guess I need to do what is legally required in Texas - should I send a check to each split in half? I am not sure what other option I have.

You should send the deposit in both of their names and let them figure it out to avoid any dispute with you

Additionally, the 30 days does not begin until you have been given a forwarding address in Texas
