Question from a Renter

I am coming to you guys because I just don't know what I can do or should do. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I was renting a house for a year and a half before my boyfriend proposed and we decided to move in together.  I moved to his house because he owns his house.  As per my lease, I forfeited my deposit and my $500 pet deposit and agreed to continue paying rent until it was rented out again.

I left the house very clean, nothing inside, with only a few superficial repairs (2 blinds needed to be replaced because my cat liked chewing on them and a small pane of glass in the french door had been broken by a falling skateboard)  I left nothing inside.  Not even a scrap of paper and scrubbed everything.  There were no holes from hanging pictures, and no smoke smell to get out.

That was 3 months ago and they still haven't done so much as replace the blinds, let alone post it. The rental agency says that the homeowner is going to do the repairs before the post it.  However, they referred to the homeowner as "he" and I know from past conversations that a woman owns it.

I feel like I am getting the run around because I am still paying them.  I have never been late, even after moving out.  I gave them a 2-month notice before I moved, never had any complaints to them or against me.

I feel like I deserve for them to at least post the rental to try to get a new renter and I'm mad that they have not.

I am wondering what the repercussions would be if I stopped paying rent until it was posted.  Is there a legal time frame or am I just screwed because I broke the lease?
