Owner Occupied time frame for VA loan

Hey guys and gals. Im currently in the process of buying my first duplex. Geting it appraised soon..inspection went well and negotiations werent too troubling. Anyways, my question is How long do i have to occupy the 1 half of the duplex for? Does having the VA loan make a difference in the time frame? My current plan is geting in a new duplex every few years using the VA loan. I believe the VA has a limit on the amount of loans u can have using it so i plan on trying to convert it to a conventional loan in the future. Any suggestions will help! Geting started is the hardest part..im just glad im geting that out of the way soon!
