Is house hacking possible in Boston?

I'm a student in Boston that's considering house hacking and as we all know, Boston ain't cheap! I would likely not be purchasing in Boston proper, but in a surrounding area like on the Hill, JP, or even Roxbury. Has anyone had experience with doing this in Boston or in larger, more expensive cities? Thank you!

It is possible:

1) really need to find a realtor in Boston who can do it (however this part is not that hard in reality throw a dart at a wall and you will find dozens of capable realtors who can help with that)

2) You are right, that the areas to look would be Mission Hill, JP, Roxbury.

3) If you want to really position yourself well before you met with a realtor would be to go get yourself prequalified for a loan from a bank/lending institution to see what kind of loan you would qualify for. Do that and you will put yourself in a good place for starting.
