Hello, I have a father in law and a son in law that are looking to rent one of the units I own in Cleveland, The father in law has a criminal history and the son in law has a clean record, the other unit we rent , the parents rent the unit and they all want to be there, it puts me in an uncomfortable situation , what is the best way to reject ?

Thank you

What exactly is the uncomfortable position you are in. You screen applicants, you reject those that do not qualify. Straight forward and normal business practice as a landlord. Just do the job.

Unless your state regulations require you give the reason for rejecting a applicant you simply inform them that they do not pass your screening standards and you are therefor rejecting their application. No explination required.
