Growing to 100 rentals

Hi everyone!

So I can't seem to still wrap my head around this. I'm seeing a lot of videos where investors are growing from 1 rental to 100 rentals overtime, but still can't figure out how these investors are mitigating the risk while growing so rapidly? Does each rental really provide that much cash flow to jump from 2 townhomes to a fourplex in one year? How they are growing so quickly?

I'd appreciate any investor's advice on how to do this! Thank you all.
