Chicago ordiance on security deposit
My friend is evicting a tenant who refused to move after lease ended. The property is in Chicago. My friend give the tenant security deposit receipt, notarized it. and deposit into a bank. There is bank name on the receipt. However, she forgot to put the bank name and address where she deposited the security deposit on the lease. Her lawyer told her that the tenant can sue her for not putting bank name and address on the lease to get double security deposit back as well as attorney fee. Can someone who is familiar with this matter help out? Does my friend stand a chance to continue the lawsuit or she should settle with the tenant? Thank you!
