Thanks for everyone's advice! I will hire a tax accountant to handle the matter.

Thanks for the advice! We never filed any partnership return. That's a huge mistake. I don't know what to do now. May I pay the entire tax and give my partner the half of what is left?

I bought a building with a partner several years ago. But the building and loan were both under my name. My partner was not on any official record. Recently we sold the building. I'm just wondering how to handle the capital gain tax between me and my partner. Thanks!

I bought a building with a partner several years ago.  But the building and loan were both under my name.  My partner was not any official record.  Recently we sold the building. Yes, there is some gain.  I'm just wondering how to handle the capital gain tax between me and my partner. Thanks!

Thanks for all of your replies! I did some research and found out that most states have specific terms on pest control. And most of them put the responsibilities on landlords except landlords can prove tenant caused the pest situation. However, that is very difficult to prove. Well, I just have to suck it up on this matter.

One tenant in Chicago area claimed there are ants in the apartment.  Her lease specified that tenant is responsible for pest control inside the apartment.  Land is responsible for pest control outside the building and public area of the building. Therefore, I have sprayed the building almost once a week for the past several weeks. She claimed that there are still ants in the apartment and wanted me to hire pest control. So I told her that she should take care of pest control issue according to the lease. Well, she claimed that she would take legal action. Here is my question.  Should I hire professional pest control to spray her apartment even though the lease specified she should be responsible for inside apartment? Meanwhile, is it legal what specified on the lease? Thank you!

Eventually I called Roto Rooter for service.  Their technician was not able to unclog it either. Well, their suggestion was to cut the wall open to install an access point.  Before doing that, I took a chance to use Kinetic Water Ram again. I did do something different this time. I bought a drain plug to completely close up the kitchen drain of one side. And shoot high pressure air into the other side's kitchen drain. Tried 5 or 6 times and increased the air pressure to 40psi. Surprisingly, it unclogged the drain.  I think the key is to close up drain line of one side. Then the air pressure has nowhere to go but to push through the clogging point. Thank you all for help! Happy Memorial Day!

Thank you all for your replies! Many great suggestion.  I will have plenty to try out.  Will keep you updated. Have a nice weekend!

Thanks Eric! There is only one vent on roof that is shared by the two apartments. Except the kitchen sinks, everything else works, toilet, bathtub, and bathroom sink. We also tried to run the snake down from the roof vent. It was two-story roof. We ran full 30-foot snake down. But it didn't work either.
