Great job 809 credit score. 12 hits on criminal record the worst being battery with intent to cause physical harm (3 counts total) and Burglary of a Dwelling. Both of these were in the 90s. There was another battery misdemeanor in 2012 I’ve never been arrested I have no clue about any of this I had to google misdemeanor to spell it right. Interested to hear whether it’s no big deal or do not pass go. Thanks!

@Luke Carl,

Personally,  I'd pass... 12 hits on criminal record is scary IMO, but that's also because we do a lot of our own maintenance,  so I'd hate to send my husband to someone with potentially that kind of temper. .    We had a similar incident, where the guy had a bad rap  (maiming, assault with intention to kill, numerous pot charges... and then nothing.. wanna know why? HE WAS IN JAIL. .. he was 100% great when he was in jail!   lol  that's probably what happened to your applicant too!    .. so if you're in a C-/D area, you gotta ask yourself-- is this someone who would take care of my place, or would they trash it and become violent?

That being said, 30 years is a long time, and a lot of people were stupid and did dumb things,  ghetto areas are a dog-eat-dog world, whole different culture... so I'd say... look at his history in the past 5-10 years.   Where has he lived in  his recent history?   Does he have steady employment?   Has he gotten a promotion?    Does he jump jobs-- that's a sign he's hard to work with.    Was he upfront with the crimes?      With our applicant, he lied about working, lied about his past (how do you leave out possibly murdering someone!?), so overall,  obviously still a liar and we didn't trust him.    I always say, I can take a past, I can't take a liar.   I say really look at your applicant, and think to yourself if you can trust him?
