Window allegedly broken by intruder

I got a text message from my condo tenant today. She claimed the master bedroom had been broken into last night while she was at home, watching t.v. She said she heard nothing. Attached, was a picture of the broken Window on the bedroom floor. I asked her if she called the police, and she said she hadn't. It sounds incredibly fishy. I'm pretty sure a domestic dispute was behind the broken window, as any sane person would have called the police immediately upon finding out someone broke into her home. The delay in reporting the incident to both me and authorities pretty much destroyed any chance of finding the person responsible. I'm going to call my insurance, but it seems like the tenant should be liable for some of the cost. Has anybody else dealt with a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tell her to file a police report and provide you with a copy of the report. Otherwise tell her she will be responsible for th ecost of repair.

When you know tenants are lying you have to force them against the wall.
