Is it better to get attorney near me or out of state property?
I discovered that my previous property manager did a very bad job and/or quite possibly didn't even do the paint and repair work that I paid for (over 2k). I'd like to speak to an attorney to see if I have a case to get the money back.
The property is in memphis and I am across the country. I was wondering if matters to find an attorney near me or in the area of the property. Thanks.

My first suggestion would be to approach the management company to see if you can get them to do what they said before you take legal action. I do t see why you couldn’t hire legal aid anywhere but might be easier in the area where the property is in the event they need to go to court for you.
