Eviction and Rent Payment
Good Day everyone, i would appreciate some clarification on the scenario below.
I recently purchased a property with section 8 tenant who having no lease agreement and are paying rent on a month to month basis. I gave them a notice to terminate with a one month grace period which would expire 11/30/2017, i also sent out the document to Section 8 to keep them in the loop.
On the first of this month i got rent from section 8 for the month of November. Sometime in the day today(11/04/2017) i got a text from one of the tenants saying she had moved her belongings out of the apartment on 11/02/2017 and all she is doing now is clearing up and cleaning the property. the following are my questions:
1. I'm i entitled to collect rent for the month of November or just for the duration of stay in November
2. Do i need to inform Section 8 that the tenants have moved out and refund the money that was paid
