Where to put Tenant Security Deposit ?

Hello BP'ers.  Quick easy question.

I understand tenant security deposits go into an interest bearing checking account, my questions are:

1.   Does it matter if it's checking or savings? 

2.  If you have multiple tenants, do they go into the same account or would it be separate ?  I'm assuming separate.
