Tenant Disaster, How Do I Find Them

HEY ALL!  Brenda here, I am looking for any information on how to find a tenant after he has vanished from a rental with severe damage.  For the $6000 that it's going to cost to get it inhabitable again, I would like to take him to court, but of course they don't tell you where they are hiding and they have switched jobs since the submission of their application.  Tenants for 8 years, my fault for buying out of state and not checking frequently enough or hiring a manger.  Hard knocks, but looking forward is what I have to do.  So, how can I find him, them, or where they work now, do you hire private investigators if you can't find them?  Im going to have to renovate it and list it for sale.  No more out of state rentals. Thank you!
