Miniblinds
Do other landlords cut the miniblinds cords to a shorter length (for child safety reasons)? The cords on the ones I bought do have the safety tassels, but the cords are a ridiculously long length--they go almost to the floor. I don't know whether they still present a safety hazard or not.

Yes, I cut the cords and I cut them so that they are just in reach at their tallest point.
One of the things that every tenant does is to tangle the blind cords into an amazingly complex knot. The shorter the cords, the less time it takes me to untie them between tenants.
It's one of the things that mystifies me about tenants. What are they doing to the blind cords? I can live in a house for years and never get a knot in the blind cords. Yet, without exception, the house is always returned with the cords in a real mess.
