property management as a career?

Hello, not sure if this is the right section but I could not find a PM section so best fit?

I am a newbie investor in Colorado. I am a disabled vet (USAF), am married and our kids are minutes away from leaving the nest, I have been a stay at home dad. My wife works as a General Manager for a top food franchise, earning about 50-60k a year with some potential for bonus and promotion. I have just graduated and passed the licencing requirements to become a real estate agent, having purchased a few property's before and never being satisfied with my agents, I decided nobody will be a better agent for me, than me. At the very least this agent path will make connections useful to my goal of eventually owning a lot of rentals. Some commission checks wouldn't hurt this process either.

My wife is considering entering into property management, thinking if she could get a job working for a PM company perhaps she could via on the job training better learn how to manage our property's, or at the very least have a working relationship with the company we use for our property.

She is a hard charger worker, that can start anywhere in any business and learn to excel at it, that is not an issue. However on first glance at craigslist help wanted ads for PM company's, I see they all want experience in PM. (would her experience managing people and merchandise translate to a interview shot?) What wages might she expect? both at the start, and 2-3 tiers up the ladder?

Thanks very much this is my first real questioning post on BP so flame kindly please

TLDR:  My wife is considering entering into property management. How much do they earn and how hard is it to enter into the field with no experience :)
