Hello fellow BPer's I have an applicant that is well qualified with good income and a good references. I have a bad feeling about him as he is extremely argumentative, nit picky and pushy. He seems like an extremely high maintenance tenant. He is already quoting laws and codes. If I miss his call, he calls back 3 times in a row. Something I try to avoid as it can quickly eat up time and money. Does anyone have experience with this kind of situation? My gut tells me to run but im not sure how to handle this amicably. Thanks in advance!

We're going with another applicant. It is easier if you have someone else already qualifying but if you don't I would just say you don't seem to be a match for our property. If they are demanding now you could outline the unacceptable demands but in this case less is more. stick with the broken record I hear you but we are going with another applicant. If they are a real persistent caller block thier number. I have negative points on the application for bad behavior including calling at unruly hours, not following instructions etc. Just think one unpleasant interaction now to avoid a year's worth of the same.
