How to: Resident Manager 101 training

I have an interview tomorrow for the position of Resident Manager. I have no experience as a Resident Manager or Leasing Agent. My related experience as president of the homeowners association for eight years is beneficial in regards to property maintenance and dealing with people, but not directly related to screening tenants and leasing units.

What do you look for in a Resident Manager? How qualified do I need to be?

Certified Apartment Manager designation? (CAM). Real Estate License? (CALBRE).

In my previous interview with another outfit, I was truthful, I wanted to own my own income property someday. They didn't like hearing that. I'll keep that dream to myself from now on...
