Abandoned car on rental property
To make a long story short, a tenant of ours for over 3 years decided about three months ago that they no longer wanted to pay rent. After 3 months of no rent being payed and being ignored for over a month, we stopped by hoping to resolve the situation (considering he was a great tenant for years before this) to find that they trashed the place and left. But they left a car in the driveway. Obviously we don't have the title to the car, which creates several problems:
1. We don't have the title to the vehicle, so we can't get it towed.
2. We can't sell it to a scrap yard without the title.
Has anyone ever dealt with a similar situation or know what the protocol here is?
Thanks!
