HELP - Rent due on the 30th?

Hey folks,

I need some help. My landlord for whom we also live with keeps insisting that we need to pay rent each month on the 30th.  She texts and calls me at work to see if rent will be paid by the 30th.   The stress of even her bothering me about rent before it's due is DRIVING ME CRAZY.   I dont mind paying rent of course...it's due...but can I insist that she not bother me at least until the 1st or can she continue to be a b***h and insist that rent is paid on the 30th of the month?

Also, so that you understand...she texts, calls and seems to just like the unwanted stress. Take the month of November, the 30th is a Wednesday.   Friday December 2, 2016 is payday and Thursday is the 1st.   Getting harassed about rent a day before the 1st and 2 days before payday really is not grounds for a good environment and to think that she also lives in the house just make for an uncomfortable situation all around.

By the way, by normal standards we are never late....we always pay on-time and this is just the 3rd month since moving into the house so there is no history of non payments.

It sounds like the lady can't cover her mortgage payment when the bank automatically takes it out at the beginning of the day on the 1st. Not your problem. All you need to do is adhere to the lease and and pay on time. I would definitely reiterate the terms of the lease back to her.

As far as the harassment, sorry about that and that sounds so annoying, especially to have her living adjacent to you! I like @Deanna McCormick's advice here.
