Air b&b instead of house sitter

A friend of mine has a vacant property in a difficult street ... did anyone ever use air b&b to rent house short term while you are looking for a permanent tenant?

I was thinking to suggest it, but not sure is worth the pain of putting in small furniture, get showings in a house rented etc etc

Thoughts?

@Paolo Ruggieri I would check the area of the property and see how much demand there is for Airbnb there. You can also cross reference this with VRBO ! If there is demand, the property may bare a much greater return doing Airbnb full time !
