Hello everyone, I have a question, I am an small investor in Nevada and I am currently doing house hacking, my current roommates have been really good but now I have a problem my current roommate who rents my basement owes me 4 months of rent and I already asked her that she needs to pay me the rent or get out but she doesn't leave and doesn't pay me rent, she lost her job so I gave her a chance until she found another one and she did so I to her that she needed to give me half of her paycheck until she get caught up but something went wrong with her background check and she hasn't started working yet, her start date was 10/26 so last week I gave her a document from the Justice court saying that she needs to pay the rent due in 5 days or she needs to leave hoping that she would leave but the 5 days have gone by and she didn't pay me or left so I wanted to know what else can I do to get her out my house legally? I didn't make her sign a rental contract when she moved in, so can I just take her stuff outside of my house and change the door lock? Can I do that? or what else can I do? I can't afford to have her in my house anymore living rent free, on 11/20 she would be 5 months behind and she would owe me $4,000, oh and a few months ago I had 2 hand guns and cash stolen from my room by someone own of her friends which I never found out who was it but the Cop who came over to my house after I called dispatch told me that she and her friends were drug addicts, I am in the process of installing a security system with camera in my house, so if any of you have any information on how I can get her out of my house without me getting in trouble them please let me know, I would really appreciate it, thanks.

Be careful here.  You need to find out what your state laws are where your property is.  Every state and their courts have different laws/regulations.  One main thing is most states is that you can not do what is called "self help eviction".  Not sure if this applies to room mates scenarios.

Self help eviction - basically anything you do against the tenant/room mate is illegal.  i.e. lock them out, move their stuff out, prevent them from getting their stuff, shutting off any utilities.
