Hi everyone!

I submitted an offer for my first multifamily fourplex here in Phoenix and we're closing escrow this Wednesday, I am excited for this new experience ahead of me. I want to be ready for my new tenants and I have some questions that I hope you all will be able to answer me.

I am inheriting tenants from the seller, Do I need new leasing contracts so the tenants can sign a new one or should I respect the old leasing agreement?

I also have an available unit for a new tenant but I don't know where do get a Leasing Agreement, where can I get one of those?

Also, if you know of any tips for new landlords like me please share them with me.

Congrats on your four plex Carlos Gonzalez !

If you are inheriting tenants, then their current lease terms are valid and must be upheld, at least in Nebraska. If you want to change them, the tenants must agree to this and sign new documents. As far as finding lease agreements and other important documents, you can find a variety of free ones online that can be altered to your standards. Also, many books you buy relating to land lording come with these. I bought Brandon Turners book about landlording on Biggerpockets, and it comes with a bunch of documents you can use along with tons of great landlording information!

Good luck!!
