Hi - I want to find out how's the rental market is in Virginia Beach/Norfolk areas. It seems like there are multiple military bases which is a good possibility for rental market, but just want to hear from the folks on the ground of how easy it is to find renters, and what area I should be looking at. I was doing some research on properties and it didn't seem like prices have gone up that much or not at all. Would it be a good place to invest? Any inputs from the local will be much appreciated.

@Gade chua

Virginia Beach is a bit pricey in the price to rent ratio.  But the SFRs can have potential.  Norfolk you need to watch the address closely as the neighborhoods change very fast, block to block.  Also watch for flood insurance as it can kill a deal very quickly.  There is a large military population and they are all over the but Virginia Beach is the more desirable for them unless you are renting in the Ghent section of Norfolk which is the nice section of Norfolk.
