Rental Property Registration in Detroit

Hi BP!

First time caller, long time listener here.  Has anyone gone through the process to register a rental property in Detroit? What does that involve, and is there some kind of checklist to which a landlord can refer before scheduling an inspection?

As with many things in Detroit, the process seems convoluted and it is difficult to get a straight answer.  I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with this before and can offer any guidance.

If anyone is wondering, the city is apparently starting to focus more on unregistered rentals in Detroit. See: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroi...

Thanks all for any guidance you might be able to provide.

Chris
